OMW: Rain & Shine

Outside my window. . .the sun is shining…at least it is now!

Flowers in RainThe funny thing about today is that the weather is poking fun at us. For a moment, it was cloudy, trees were swaying and noisy, and it looked like there was about to be torrential downpour. Moment’s later, the sun was shining and the trees were still and quiet. As I passed by to gaze through the glass a couple of hours later it was raining and Noah was in the backyard beckoning all of the neighborhood puppies and cats on board. As quickly as it started, the sun was shining again and there was no evidence outside of what happened hours ago.

Nature is funny like that but poses several questions in my mind about preparation, and how quickly things in our lives can move from one state to the next. Am I prepared for what may come in the future? What may come sooner than expected? Can I handle it?

Our days will be full of rain and clouds while other days the sun will shine as if it’s competing for a medal! But sometimes, like to day, days will contain both sunshine and rain. Know that rainy “moments” don’t last forever. Things will work out if I just keep looking….outside my window!

Enjoy this very moment to its fullest extent. Live every second of every day. If there is a storm, trust that it won’t last forever. If the sun is shining, be prepared for the rain.

Later gators!

“Outside My Window . . .” is a collection of thoughts during a time of renewal. This world is so busy ‘doing’ and ‘being’ that we often fail to sit and watch what’s going just outside our own windows. Nature is alive. Each day it has a story and a lesson to share. We don’t hear it because we don’t sit and look–and listen. The next time you’re feeling overwhelmed and confused, go to your window and pull up a chair. You will find the peace that you need and realize that the answers often are just outside of your window. -P. Jae
