Happy New Year, People! And what a New Year it is. Currently, it’s 4 degrees outside. FOUR. Now, for some this may not seem like a big deal. But, to me and several others in this great state, this is something else. The schools have closed because of poor transportation or the lack of efficient heating systems–or a combination of both. Either way…kids are ecstatic, parents are feeling some type of way, and others are lazily laying around in front of the fire enjoying a day off.
It’s interesting how the external environment can cause so many changes in our lives. It puts us out of our comfort zones and forces us to make specific choices that we wouldn’t make on any “normal” day. To me, it’s life! Things change. More often then not, things change quickly and decisions have to be made on the fly. This morning as was driving I was thinking about how being ‘prepared’ helps eliminate or alleviate the ’emergency’ that occurs. About a month ago when things begin to cool off, my husband began sealing the windows and doors and taking steps to prep the house for what was to come. Prepared! How can we apply this to our lives? What areas of our lives need a little ‘prep’? There’s no time like the present to get started!
There’s no real theme to this post….just a random thought on my mind!
Stay warm friends!
